-The following phone models can be unlocked for FREE using just a standard USB CABLE (DCU-60) and some FREE Softwares downloaded from the internet:

DB2010, DB2020 = SEMC (Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications) hardware platforms. It's something similar to chipset in PC.
*note that for other DB platforms like DB2012, DB 3150 (also known as A2), pnx5230 Unlock cannot be done with FREE Softwares

**You must backup your phone's GDFS - global definition file sistem - This is UNIQUE for every phone and contains data directly connected with the IMEI and other important stuff - it has to be SAVED ( BACKUP) for your phone's safety. When this becomes corrupted the phone won't start or it displays for a little while the sony ericsson logo or a white screen and then it hungs up or DIE and restart again.

*** You will need to Flash your branded phone with GENERIC( ORIGINAL, UNBRANDED) Sony Ericsson Firmware since the UNLOCKING process will involve patching the Phone's Software (also known as main firmware) that also can be downloaded freely from the internet ( we provided you some in the Firmwares post )

The steps you must follow are described ordered in the list to the right of the page so you won't mess up ==>

This website takes no responsability for any damage that might happen if you don't follow exactly the tutorials present here . if by any chance you succed in damaging it ,writing back to the phone the original GDFS back-ed up earlyer and flashing it again will revive it .or you can go to your nearby service center and repair it

Step 1: DOWNLOAD & INSTALL the USB FLASH DRIVERS

FIRST Downlad the USB FLASH DRIVERS ( theese are not common USB DRIVERS )

NEXT :

turn off the phone
connect the usb cable to PC
press & hold the "C" key on the phone's keyboard ,count to 3 and insert the USB cable into the phone .
a small popup will appear that a NEW HARDWARE was found .
choose the USB FLASH DRIVERS path .. for instaling them for this new hardware
after is done plug off the phone from usb cable and remove/insert back battery
the installing of USB FLASH DRIVERS is needed to be done ONLY ONCE ( not at every phone reflashing or patching ) once they are installed you will be able to mod your phone(s)

Step 2: Find out what FIRMWARE and CID your phone has !!!

Turn off the phone and remove SIM and MEMORY STICK .
Run Setool2 lite and choose your PHONE TYPE (w810,w850,k800, etc ..)
press IDENTIFY
PRESS AND HOLD THE " C " KEY AND CONNECT THE PHONE TO THE USB CABLE .
Setool will display in the main window all the info of your phone ( FIRMWARE , CID ,IMEI ),
Detatch the phone/ remove battery and put it back

if your PHONE's CID (EROM CID) is 49, 51,52 then you can go on with the moding of your phone and remember that you must download firmwares that have the same CID !

Step 3: GDFS BACKING UP / RESTORING - VERY IMPORTANT!

GDFS BACKING UP might save you when you do some mistake and "kill" your phone .

YOU MUST SAVE (BACKUP ) YOUR GDFS BEFORE STARTING TO MOD OR FLASH YOUR PHONE

With setool2lite

1. Open setool2lite
2. On Phone model choose your phone model
3. close phone and remove phone card and sim card
4. Press READ GDFS not other button ..
6. Plug usb cable holding key "c"
7. WEN PROGRAM WILL REQUEST remove data cable and battery of it, and put them back to the place (holding key "c") and then, press READY.
DONE!!!
YOU WILL FIND YOUR GDFS IN SETOOL FOLDER ( gdfsxxxxxxxxxx.bin )

With xs + +3.2

1.Open xs + +
2.turn off the phone and remove phone card and batery from it
3.Press "Connect" (xs + +)
4.Plug data cable holding key "c"
5.Check section of the GDFS bottom right of the program
6.Press BACKUP GDFS
7.wait until these message will appear: disconected, unplug the phone

If you did not bakup your GDFS, the next tutorial it will not be useful.
RESTORING GDFS

With setool2lite

1.Open setool2lite
2.On Phone model choose your phone model
3.On misc file choose the GDFS (a file format: gdfs_xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.bin, which we found in the folder where you copied setool, if you do back-up with setool)
4.close phone and remove phone card and sim card
5. Pres Write GDFS
6.Plug usb cable holding key "c"
7.WEN PROGRAM WILL REQUEST remove data cable and battery of it, and put them back to the place (holding key "c") and then, press READY.
DONE!!!

With xs + +3.2

1.Open xs + +
2.turn off the phone and remove phone card and batery from it
3.Press "Connect" (xs + +)
4.Plug data cable holding key "c"
5.Check section of the GDFS bottom right of the program
6.On GDFS Script put the file format: gdfs_xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.bin
7.Press Run script
8.wait until these message will appear: disconected, unplug the phone

Step 4: Phone flashing with Setool2 lite

allmost all s-e phones are supported by setool .
FLASH = MAIN + FS + CUSTOMIZATION
main.mbn + fs.fbn + customization(cda ).zip

Download SEtool2 lite v1.11 or v1.08 from the DOWNLOAD area.
Download the MAIN / FS / CUSTOMIZATION for your phone from the FIRMWARE FILES area
be sure that the CID ( 36,49,50,51,52) of your phone coincides with the cid of the software you want to apply .only cid is important, the version of firmware can be chaged with another ex for a K800i that setool identified as EROM CID 52 RED you will use theese 3 files:

K800_R8BA024_MAIN_GENERIC_WI_RED52.mbn
K800_R8BA024_FS_MEDITERR_RED52.mbn
K800_HB1-06_Gen_CDA102568_4_R8A_GENERIC_MEDITERR.zip

Turn off the phone and remove SIM card and Memory card.
Start Setool2 lite and choose PHONE TYPE-which phone you have
Click on ADD and select the MAIN (.MBN file) and next the FS(.FBN file) (they will appear both in the ADD-list)
At MISC FILES select the CUSTOMIZATION .zip (don't unzip it )
press FLASH and setool will ask you to insert the cable into the phone .
Quickly you PRESS and HOLD the button C on your phone and CONNECT the usb cable.
Setool will show then that it's starting to flash the phone.
You can remove the usb cable only when it displays: "elapsed xxx second,phone detached".After that disconnect the phone,get battery out few seconds,reinsert battery,SIM card and memory stick and start up phone,will appear a message "Please wait"and wait! PHONE is REFLASHED / DEBRANDED now !!!

IF setool does not "SEE" your phone that means that you didn't installed the USB_FLASH drivers

THIS EXAMPLE IS FOR K800 / FOR OTHER PHONE TYPES USE THEIR CORRESPONDENT FIRMWARES .use unbranded (generic) firmwares that have words like "generic ,mediterr ,EU or EMEA" in their filenames

Step 5: UNLOCK DB2020 K550, K610, K618, K770, K790, K800, K810

this post shows you step-by-step how to unlock for FREE any DB2020 sony ericsson (this EXAMPLE is for K800i)

- for the other models (K550, K610, K618, K770, K790, K810) you must use firmware for the respective model .

example: for K550 you must use a k550 firmware (k550.mbn +k550.fbn+k550CDA.zip )
K550_R6BD001_MAIN_GENERIC_LM_RED52.mbn - this is Main firmware (.mbn)
K550_R6BD001_FS_I_MODE_2_RED52.fbn - this is File System (.fbn)
k550I_HB1-06_Gen_CDA102568_4_R8A_GENERIC_MEDITERR.zip - This is CDA (.zip) also known as customization
this can be done only FOR CID52 - IF u have cid 49 or 51 just upgrade it via XS ++ or setool2 lite 1.11 .
Do NOT SEUS cos upgrades it to cid 53 and that's bad !!
and first of all you have to make a back-up of your GDFS

UNLOCK with setool 1.11 + qamaker + simUnlock patch generator
Required :
1 . make sure that you installed the USB FLASH DRIVERS
2 . Setool2 lite 1.11 + Qamaker
3 . SimUnlock Patch Generator

DB2020 is unlocked in 3 steps

1.Cracking the MAIN with quick access patch.vkp so you can use patches and unlock it or other patches.
-in setool 1.11 is a folder QAMAKER
-in it is qamaker.exe
-drag the MAIN "K800_R8BA024_MAIN_GENERIC_WI_RED52.mbn" over "qamaker.exe" and it will create an" quick_access_K800_R1KG001.vkp " in QAMAKER folder .
-start setool lite1.11 and choose phone type k800
-at " MISC FILES" on "..." select the "quick_access_K800_R1KG001.vkp "
-tag bypass db2020
-click on ADD and select the MAIN "K800_R8BA024_MAIN_GENERIC_WI_RED52.mbn"
-CLICK FLASH - up right in setool .
-Press& hold C on the phone's keyboard , count to 3 and insert usb cable
-in a few moments it will tell you to remove the USB , battery /put it back , PRESS READY in setool and PLUG THE USB IN again .
-after a few minutes it will apear a popup - select NO to apply the patch
and is done ( elapsed xxx -seconds)

2. Generating the UNLOCK patch with SimUNLOCK patch generator
-start SIMUNLOCK patch generator
-choose the MAIN "K800_R8BA024_MAIN_GENERIC_WI_RED52.mbn"
-click on make patch (generate)
finished .
the unlock patch will be in simUNLOCK folder .

3. WRITING THE UNLOCK PATCH and UNLOCK THE PHONE .
-Run Setool.
-select phone type k800.

-At MISC FILES select the UNLOCK patch.vkp
-tag "use quick access patch"
-Press "WRITE SCRIPT".
-When the program ask to select YES to remove patch or NO to apply patch ,you press NO.
-Now you wait untill you see next message: Elapsed ___sec.

K800i PHONE UNLOCKED !!!
put in the desired simcard and start your phone
